This study aimed to determine what the students\nlearned and gained through their continuous home visits and its significance on the older\nadults. The research method was a qualitative descriptive study, in which the researchers\ninterviewed the students and older adults. Their verbatim transcripts were analyzed as\ndata. The students’ learning through the project was organized into five categories: “trial\nand error in forming communication skills,” “understanding the lives of the older people\nwho lived in housing complexes,”“ awareness from the experience of being exposed to the\nvalues of older people,”“ students’ sense of accomplishment”, and“ fostering teamwork in\npairs.” The significance of the interaction with the students for the older adults was\norganized into three categories: “The students’ visit gave me a future orientation that I\ncannot get from interacting with older adults,” “The interaction with the students\nreminded me of my “purpose of living,” and “I am glad to have the opportunity to\ncontribute to the growth of young people who will lead the next generation.” Continuous\nhome visits were effective for the students to learn regarding wellness in older adults, and\nfor older adults to create a sense of purpose in their lives.
