The questionnaire items investigated patientsʼ understanding (4 levels) of selfcare\nguidance including “essential knowledge,” “essential skills,” and “essential supportive\nnursing care ” ( free description ). The questionnaire was distributed to 84 people and 51\nresponses were obtained ( recovery rate 60.7% ). The percentage of those who received\nguidance on essential knowledge was high, but the percentage of those who received\nguidance on essential skills was low. There was a significant difference in the rate of receiving\nguidance on the administration route (intravenous drip＞oral administration) and treatment\nsite ( hospitalization＞outpatient ), and levels of understanding of the treatment site were\nsignificantly different (hospitalization＞outpatient). The need for essential supportive nursing\ncare was expressed, such as “I want a nurse to talk to me and check my symptoms and how to\ndeal with them.” There was a lack of self-care guidance on the essential skills required for\npatients to monitor their symptoms.
